Five for Friday...Late Again!
I am determined to get my Five for Friday posted on FRIDAY next week! I am still adjusting being back to work and getting our new routine down. It will all come together eventually.
1. CrossFit.
Four days a week my BFF, Wendy from One Happy Teacher, workout with our personal trainer right after school. Yesterday we went up 10 lbs on our kettle bell swings...note this was part of our warm up not even our workout! I am proud of us for keeping up with it since school has started, last year we stopped working out because we let school come first. Not this year! We need our physical and mental health to be our top priority.
2. Biography Bags.
We started our Biography unit this week with students sharing their autobiography bags. This is also a great getting to know you activity. I have my students lay out their objects like a museum exhibit and we take a tour in our classroom. I do this so everyone can see everything before each student presents their project. It solves the "I can't see problem" during the presentations.
3. We are in week two of implementing Laura Candler's Power Reading Workshop. Here is a picture of my kids reading silently for 30 minutes....a teacher's dream! You can see my post about how we are using PRW HERE.
4. Soccer!
This year my boys decided they wanted to play soccer. The last time my oldest played was three years ago and he just stood there. My middle guy has never played before and he is SUPER excited! Unfortantely, the boys are on two different teams, have practice the same days at the same time at two different fields! My middle guy took the above picture at his brother's first practice.
5. Pre-K
My middle guy was accepted into our state pre-K program at my school this year! This is a financial and personal blessing for our family! Our school is a 2-5 school with Pre-K (weird, I know) so he gets to go to school with me everyday. My friend is the TA in his room and she sent me a text the other day of him napping....he never naps!
Finally, Check out my BBB Jivey's 1000 follower giveaway! It it AWESOME! There are several giveaways to enter, all of her favorite things!

Good for you continuing your work out. I haven't quite figured out how to balance school with my workouts.

How sweet that your little guy gets to go to school with you. I'm sure he loves having his mom in the building with him.

Your son is just adorable!! Kudos to you for keeping up with your Cross Fit once school started! I agree about your health needing to come first:) I also loved your PWS post. That is a great idea to keep the book nooks out of the picture until they master their seats first.

Fourth Grade Flipper
So tricky to balance school life with keeping fit and healthy... if only both of those didn't take so much time! :) My goal this year is 3 classes at the gym each week, I'm on track so far! :)
