Two Truths and a Lie & Freebies

This is a fun linky party and loved reading all the blog post last week about my blogging buddies!
This week's topic is "Two Truths and a Lie", can you find my lie?

1. For my 30th birthday I went sky diving.  I was so excited, a few friends went along too, I couldn't wait for my turn to jump.  We took our class, met out skydivers (we did tandem), and watched a few people from the classes before us do their jumps and landings.  It was finally my turn and I was still excited, even after a report of someone landing in the trees,...until it was time to stand in front of the open door 3000 feet up!  If my instructor wasn't strapped to my back I would still be at the door...I. FREAKED. OUT!  I had to remind myself to breathe during the free fall, which felt like FOREVER.  I couldn't wait for my instructor to tap my hip to tell me it was time to pull our shoot...thank God he finally did!  Once we had our shoot open I finally enjoyed my "ride", the view was AMAZING, and I had a safe landing on my butt.

2. In my 31 years I have lived in six states and one foreign country.  I attended four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, two colleges, and one online college in my academic career. I have worked at two schools grades 2-4.  I am still in touch with my best friend from elementary school, and LOVE the school I work at.

3. My middle son has made life interesting from the moment he came into his world!  He was born on a full moon, eating his umbilical cord, and with a bruised purple face.  He has flooded the playroom with toilet water, drawn on EVERY wall in our brand new house, given himself "tattoos" with all types of markers, taken every knife from the knife block and placed them in a plastic sippy cup holder SHARP end up, peed on our counter after climbing up to the top of our fridge to get candy he earned for going potty in the potty, and LOVES to make any mess possible.

I have been working on lesson plans 4.NF.4 this week and listed this unit in my TpT Store.

  1. This is too hard! All three are so detailed! You are good at this my friend! I am going to go with #1 as the lie....although I am second guessing this as we speak. :)

  2. I just linked up too. I'm going to guess that your lie is about going to so many schools, although giving so many details makes it hard to guess. But my experience sky diving was so much like yours (remembering to breathe!), that I think that one's true. Can't wait to find out!

  3. Oh wow... this IS hard! I can believe the skydiving thing, although I would NEVER do that! I can also believe the moving around thing.. but I think you've only worked at one school?! That's my guess!

Also, being the blog stalker that I am, I was looking at your "about me" section and my husband walked by and saw your family picture. He says he knows your husband, and I believe has worked with/near him before. Small, small world!

  7. Well, since I have a boy, I'm thinking #3 is totally possible and something EXACTLY that my middle son would do, if he thought of it, and I WILL NOT be sharing that idea with him EVER. LOL!

I'm thinking maybe #2 buuuuuut, maybe not because maybe you weren't scared at all jumping out of that plane...buuuuuuut that retell is very vivid, so I think maybe you did feel that way (because I would have!)

  10. I'm thinking with all the details that you just changed one little thing, but they're all based on truth. So I'm going to say #1 is the lie. Maybe you weren't 30, or maybe you didn't actually jump. That's just my gut feeling. That little boy is precious!
