Workshop Wednesday

It's been a rough couple of days!  Thank you to all of you for your prayers, thoughts, and well wishes during my families difficult time.  We had a beautiful memorial for my Grandma and spent some quality time with family in honoring my Grandma.  She loved the Flea Market, bowling, and her family and that is what we spent our time doing.

So, back to routine we go!

I am linking up with Jivey's Workshop Wednesday July series...tools in preparation for classroom workshops.  This will be my first year implementing Math Workshop so I have started gathering tools and/or items in preparation for this fall.
First I hit up the Dollar Tree!  I was excited to find the red baskets, I plan to use these to hold my centers.  I also found some cute mini Dominos, I plan to go back and get another pack of these, they fit perfectly in the smaller red bins.  I plan to put the smaller bins in the baskets to hold all the little pieces.  I was excited to find this baseball multiplication and division math game...SCORE for me!
I have started printing out my Math Workshop Board, Math Games, and this free "Setting Up Guided Math" booklet.
For Reading Workshop I have finished reading Wonder, which I plan to use for shared and cloze readings.  I am going to review Laura Candler's book Power Reading Workshop. I only wish I had an extra cash to sign up for her workshop... it is this month and just down the road from me.
In preparation for Writing Workshop I have printed out Jivey's Mentor Sentences and reading on how to implement them into my writing instruction.

Two weeks ago I was fortunate to visit with my Grandma before she took a turn for the worse.  I am blessed to have had time with her.

I posted in a previous Made It Monday the family tree my sister and I started working on for my Grandma.  She didn't get to see if fully completed but we know she is watching over all of us.  She loved watching the cardinals and hummingbirds off her back porch so we added some to the tree.
My niece and nephew painted the bird houses and we added a 3-D cardinal to one, we are still in need of a humming bird for the blue one. {If you happen to find a hummingbird we could add to the tree please let me know.}

Thank you to everyone who participated in my BlogLovin' Giveaway!  I am happy to announce that Amy M. won and has already received her 5 items!  I was very excited to see Amy's name on the Rafflecopter because she is a loyal customer to my TpT store :)

  1. These look like some great things you've picked up!! I had a post not too long ago about organizing those awesome dollar tree playing cards- if you can't find it and are interested, I'll email you the link. It's helped so much for when those random cards are found around the room. And of course, let me know if you have questions about mentor sentences! I'll be ready to help! :) Thanks for linking up!

    *I'm so glad you got to visit with your grandmother and got such a sweet picture! ((hugs))*

  3. Your family tree is wonderful. What a beautiful tribute. I'm glad you were able to spend time with family, it is so hard to go through a loss, but it is such a blessing to be with the people you love during that time.

    I am going to have to hit up my local dollar store to see if they have dominoes...what a great find!
